Zambian striker Enock Sakala Jr has completed a move to Kyrgyz Premier League champions FK Abdysh-Ata Kant, bringing an end to his five-month spell with UAE outfit Gulf United.
The 24-year-old forward was officially unveiled by the Kyrgyz club, which welcomed him through a social media announcement expressing confidence that his pace, technical ability and eye for goal will strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
"Welcome to the Abdysh-Ata family! Abdysh-Ata Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Zambian striker Enock Sakala. The 24-year-old forward has joined our team after transferring from Gulf United (Dubai). We are sure that his speed, technique and focus on the goal will help the team in the new season," the club posted.
Sakala joins one of Kyrgyzstan's most successful clubs. FK Abdysh-Ata Kant have dominated domestic football in recent years, winning three consecutive Kyrgyz Premier League titles between 2022 and 2024.
The Kyrgyz Premier League, officially known as the OLIMPBET Premier League for sponsorship purposes, is the highest tier of professional football in Kyrgyzstan. Established in 1992 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the league currently features eight clubs. While Dordoi Bishkek remain the competition's most successful side with 13 league titles, Abdysh-Ata Kant have emerged as the country's dominant force in recent seasons.
Sakala's move marks another chapter in a career that has taken him across several countries. Before joining Gulf United in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year, he had a brief spell with Nkana and also trained with South African giants Orlando Pirates during pre-season after departing Chippa United.
The Zambian attacker joined Chippa United in February 2025 following a stint with Egyptian side Modern Sport, making six appearances and scoring once before leaving the club in July.
Prior to his move abroad, Sakala enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 MTN Super League campaign with ZESCO United, scoring 12 league goals to help the Ndola-based club secure qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
His switch to FK Abdysh-Ata Kant offers the former ZESCO United forward another opportunity to showcase his talent on the international stage as he aims to help the Kyrgyz champions maintain their domestic dominance and compete strongly in continental competition.
