KITWE โ€“ Power Dynamos have completed the signing of midfielder Joshua "Budo" Mutale, bringing the Zambian international back to Arthur Davies Stadium two years after his departure.

Mutale joins the reigning MTN Super League champions as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Tanzanian giants Simba SC. He has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, marking an emotional return to the club where he established himself as one of Zambia's most exciting midfield talents.

In a statement, Power Dynamos confirmed the midfielder's return:

"Power Dynamos Football Club is delighted to welcome back prolific midfielder Joshua Mutale. Mutale rejoins the club as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Simba SC, signing a two-year, five-month deal with the club."

After leaving Power Dynamos in 2024, Mutale signed for Simba SC before spending the 2025/26 season on loan at Saudi Arabian second-tier side Al-Adalah SC.

His return is expected to strengthen an already formidable Power Dynamos squad as the club prepares to defend its league title and compete in continental football.

Mutale was instrumental during his first spell with Abayellow, earning admiration for his creativity, work rate and ability to influence matches from midfield. His performances eventually secured him a move abroad, and the club will be hoping his experience will prove invaluable in the coming seasons.

The return of the 25-year-old is another statement of intent from Power Dynamos as they continue to build a squad capable of maintaining domestic dominance while making a strong impression on the African stage.
