Young Crocs continued their impressive start to the Lusaka Province Division Two campaign with a convincing victory over Shamuel, inspired by a sensational hat-trick from prolific striker Maxen Msimuko.
Msimuko found the back of the net in the 57th, 72nd and 89th minutes to complete a memorable hat-trick and underline his growing importance to the Young Crocs attack.
The striker had already opened his account in the league opener against Happy Hearts, scoring as Young Crocs secured a 2–1 victory. His four goals in the opening two matches have given the club an early attacking spark as they look to build momentum following their relegation from Division One.
Following the match, Shamuel proprietor Evans Kangwa, who presented Msimuko with the match ball, encouraged the young striker to remain disciplined and continue working hard. Kangwa, a member of Zambia’s historic 2012 Africa Cup of Nations-winning team, also urged the youngster to stay focused on his development.
Meanwhile, Young Crocs head coach Maketo Taluso has cautioned his players against becoming complacent despite their perfect start to the campaign.
“As you may know, we have just been relegated from Division One and the boys are hungry for success. We have also promoted some of our boys to the main team. For me and the entire project, we are on course to groom world-class players, but they must maintain their cool and discipline to maintain the momentum.”
Young Crocs have now won their opening two matches, giving the team a strong foundation as they seek an immediate return to Division One while continuing their focus on developing young talent.
