The cameras have stopped rolling, but the mystery surrounding Senzeni is only beginning.

Zambian filmmaker Cosmas Ng’andwe has officially wrapped filming for the highly anticipated thriller, bringing together some of Zambia’s finest acting talent and two legendary Nigerian actors in what promises to be one of the country’s most intriguing film productions.

Ng’andwe confirmed the completion of filming through a behind-the-scenes video shared on Facebook, showing members of the cast and crew celebrating the end of production.

Among the biggest names attached to the project is Nigerian Nollywood legend Kanayo O Kanayo, who joined the production as one of the lead actors.

The veteran actor, whose real name is Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, is widely recognised for his memorable roles in Nollywood films, particularly characters associated with traditional beliefs, power, wealth and ritual sacrifices.

His involvement in Senzeni has already sparked curiosity among movie lovers, with many asking one question:

Who will be sacrificed?

Another major Nollywood name featured in the film is Tony Umez, a veteran actor whose career stretches back to the early years of the Nigerian film industry.

Umez has built a reputation for powerful performances in dramatic productions and is expected to bring another layer of experience to the Zambian thriller.

A STORY OF SECRETS, BETRAYAL AND LEGACY

According to Ng’andwe, Senzeni — meaning “What have we done?” — follows a young man whose search for answers about his family’s past leads him into a dangerous world of secrets, betrayal and powerful forces determined to keep the truth hidden.

As he digs deeper, he discovers that his family’s legacy comes with a price — and some truths may be more dangerous than the lies surrounding them.

With filming now complete, attention has shifted to the film’s trailer, which Ng’andwe teased in the behind-the-scenes video.

While an official trailer release date has not yet been announced, audiences have been told to “buckle up” and prepare for its arrival.

The filmmaker also revealed that Senzeni is expected to premiere in November 2026.

With the combination of a Zambian production, experienced local talent and two Nollywood heavyweights, Senzeni could become one of the most talked-about Zambian films of the year.

And as the November premiere approaches, one question remains:

In Senzeni, who will pay the ultimate price for the secrets of the past?
