Zanaco and Smart Zambia Institute are deepening collaboration aimed at supporting Zambia's digital transformation with discussions focusing on digital infrastructure, innovation and wider access to technology.
The development was reported by TechAfrica News journalist Joyce Onyeagoro following a strategic engagement held on August 10th, 2026 between Zanaco delegation led by Chief Executive Officer Mukwandi Chibesakunda and Government Chief Technical Officer Kasali Musenge alongside other officials and technology stakeholders.
According to Onyeagoro's report, the meeting went beyond a courtesy engagement with the two sides discussing practical ways of aligning their priorities to accelerate Zambia's digital agenda.
Smart Zambia National Coordinator Percy Chinyama said stronger cooperation with private-sector organizations such as Zanaco would be critical to developing the digital infrastructure needed to improve government service delivery, support commerce and expand opportunities for citizens
The discussion also highlighted the role of public private partnerships in advancing digital transformation through investment in these priorities.
The engagement comes as Zambia seeks to move from digital transformation plans to practical implementation with closer cooperation between government and businesses expected to support the development of the country's digital economy.
