Careless ranting from Munir Zulu must be stopped before it becomes fuel for anarchy in this nation.

Munir Zulu poses a serious threat to the stability and peace of this nation with his continuous tribal and divisive talks. What is very sad is that he does this amid the people who aspire to be the president of this country, like Hon. Mundubile and Kafwaya elders. Anyway, I guess that is just one way of exposing these elders’ values. Their silence while watching him make such hateful remarks and calls for dividing this nation must be condemned by all peaceful, unity-loving Zambians.

No one must feel more Zambian than others, politicians must not treat this country like it’s their farm, where they decide to do and plant whatever they feel or wish to grow at a particular season; being elected doesn’t give one power to reign or rule; instead, it’s an honor and a privilege to be of service to those that have been elected, elected officials are servants; their core focus should be to serve people, not reign or rule them, at all times, they must call for unity and not division, as Munir keeps doing.

No matter how aggrieved you are, especially if you are a leader, never take the divisive route, What has struck me about this thing is the silence of the senior members on that bench, Maybe I need to see the full version of this clip to hear what they said in all this; otherwise, their silence just sends a different message. This country belongs to all of us, no one must feel more of a citizen than another.

To the young, poor people, refuse to be used as tools of violence by politicians, sometimes they speak this way, yet they won’t even have their relatives on the battlefront, not even their children, yet they claim to be fighting for you. Do not be deceived, be an instrument of peace and dialogue. No one wins in war, people are displaced women and children die.

People must learn from History Sata always called for peace and dialogue and I remember one time he was pleading with with people who thought they needed to fight, and he asked them, “Nomba ngamwaonaula icalo mukulwa, nkateka banii?” Meaning, if you destroy this nation by fighting each other, who will I serve? There will be no nation for me to be president over. That’s what a true leader must do, always calling for peace and dialogue, and we have seen this from the great leaders and activists of individual and civil liberties, the likes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Dr. Kaunda. All these called for nonviolence in their quest for peace, and we all have seen the results. and the beauty of history is that it’s got results for either route, and we all can see that.

We must do all we can to make sure that we maintain peace and unity in our nation.
