Kafulamase Primary School Transformed with Solar-Powered Water System

Kafulamase Primary School has received a solar-powered water reticulation system and 96 fruit trees, benefiting over 1,000 pupils and community members. This project, supported by the FNB Foundation and officiated by Minister of Water Development and Sanitation Eng. Collins Nzovu, ensures sustainable access to clean water and improved sanitation.

With a 10,000-litre water tank and advanced solar-powered technology, this initiative enhances health, hygiene, and education, particularly for young girls who previously spent valuable time fetching water. The project is part of Habitat for Humanity Zambia’s Promoting Human Security through Safe Housing and WASH Services initiative, aimed at reducing poverty through improved housing and sanitation.

Dignitaries present at the handover ceremony included His Royal Highness Chief Dr. Chamuka VI, Kabwe Central MP Hon. Chrizoster Halwindi, Kabwe Mayor Mr. Patrick Chishala Phiri, and Kabwe District Commissioner Lennox Shimwambwa.

This milestone sets the stage for future community-driven sustainability projects across Zambia.
