FIFA Agent Tumbikani Museteka Calls for Investment in Research and Development in Zambian Football

FIFA-licensed agent Tumbikani Museteka has urged Zambian football clubs to embrace research and development to stay competitive in the international transfer market. She emphasized that while Zambian football has immense talent, many clubs struggle to secure player transfers due to governance issues, slow administrative processes, and a lack of structured scouting systems.

Museteka pointed out that modern football is no longer just about raw talent but also about data analytics, efficient scouting networks, and strong club management. Unlike leading African leagues in South Africa, Morocco, and Egypt, where clubs have well-established talent development programs, Zambian teams still face challenges in contract management and international market positioning.

She stressed that delayed paperwork and inefficient contract structuring often cause clubs to lose out on promising deals. To attract international scouts and clubs, she encouraged teams to streamline administrative processes, invest in player branding, and establish international partnerships. She also highlighted the growing importance of social media and digital marketing in increasing a player’s visibility and value in the market.

Museteka urged FAZ, club executives, and stakeholders to take a proactive approach in developing a more structured football ecosystem. She believes that with the right strategies, Zambian football can elevate its global presence and create better opportunities for players in international leagues. The future, she said, depends on how well clubs adapt to modern trends and position themselves for success.
