Unconfirmed reports suggest that Gildah Sompela, former interim coach at Chipata United, has signed a contract and been handed the role of head coach at Chongwe United. Although the team has not officially announced the appointment, sources indicate that Sompela’s contract is a one-year deal with an option for an extension.
Chongwe United, a Division Three team in the Lusaka Province League, is reportedly bringing on Sompela and his assistant coach Joseph after their successful campaign at Chipata United last season. Under their leadership, the team managed to avoid relegation and delivered impressive football, earning the admiration of fans in the Eastern Province.
