Nchanga Golf Club
The greens of Zambia’s Copperbelt were alive with energy this past weekend as Nchanga Golf Club clinched the title of 2025 National Quadrangular Golf Champions, sealing their dominance in one of the country’s most prestigious golf competitions.
The tournament, proudly sponsored by Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) with a contribution of K100,000, brought together four powerhouse golf clubs – Chainama and Bonanza from Lusaka, and Nkana alongside Nchanga representing the Copperbelt.
When the final putts were sunk, Nchanga stood tall with 73 points, leaving Chainama trailing in second on 61 points, Nkana in third with 59 points, while Bonanza wrapped up the leaderboard with 28 points.
KCM’s Acting CEO, Mr. Malcolm Mewett, congratulated the golfers for their competitive spirit and hinted at something exciting on the horizon – a major golf event to be hosted by Nchanga Golf Club in the near future.
Also in attendance was former ZGU President and Nchanga Golf Club patron, Mr. Matthew Nkhuwa, the current ZGU President Michelle Kazala, and visiting golf captains, all of whom praised the tournament for raising the profile of the game locally.
For Nchanga, this victory is more than just bragging rights. Club manager Mzimba Constantine shared that part of the prize will be invested into community projects.
“This victory means a lot to us as a club, and we recognize the importance of giving back. We are surrounded by large communities, and as always, we will sit as a team and see how best we can extend support, possibly through charity,” he said.
The National Quadrangular once again lived up to its billing – a perfect blend of rivalry, teamwork, and community spirit. For Zambia’s youthful golfers and fans, the message is clear: the future of golf in the country is not only competitive but also inclusive and socially impactful.
Congratulations to Nchanga Golf Club – 2025 champions of the National Quadrangular!
